LOS ANGELES — Kia joined the parade of automakers rolling out crossover vehicles in the United States when it introduced its 2007 Rondo on Thursday at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The front-wheel-drive Rondo is expected to go on sale early next year. The Rondo is available with either a 162-horsepower 2.4-liter inline-4 or a 182-hp 2.7-liter V6. The LX model comes with a four-speed automatic transmission, and the EX is equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission.
Standard LX features include body-color door handles and side moldings and 16-inch alloy wheels. The EX adds foglights and 17-inch alloy wheels. Options include a third-row seat, rear spoiler and roof-rack crossbars.
Standard cabin features include an AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers and power accessories. The EX features a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.
Safety features include six standard airbags, electronic stability control and antilock brakes.
Prices have not been announced.
