TORRANCE, Calif. — Toyota said on Tuesday that it will introduce its 2007 Tundra CrewMax pickup truck on January 7 at the Detroit auto show.
The CrewMax is the four-door version of the Tundra. The second-generation Tundra will come with three engine choices: a 4.0-liter V6, a 4.7-liter V8 and a new 5.7-liter V8 that is mated to a new heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission.
The big V8 has a towing capacity of more than 10,000 pounds, according to Toyota. The Tundra gets more luxurious for the new model year, too, with a lineup of new options that include a JBL audio system with Bluetooth capability, a 10-way power driver seat and a backup camera.
The Tundra is slated to hit showrooms in early 2007.
Toyota says its full-size truck will be available in 31 model configurations, with a choice of 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains. The redesigned Tundra is built in Texas and Indiana.
