MUNICH, Germany — Geiger Cars of Germany, a specialist in tuning American cars, turned a Hummer H2 into a seasonally festive Santa Claus-themed conveyance.
Among the "ho, ho, ho"-inducing touches are fiery red paint, a matching snowmobile on a trailer, and gullwing front doors.
Geiger made the one-off for the TV program Galileo on the Pro 7 channel in Germany. The tuner calls it "St. Nick's new company vehicle." As if to prove the point, the interior leather and carpeting are all red, and there's a tailgate-ready trunk area with widescreen TV, integrated Thermos cans and a heated stainless-steel box that is ready to hold Christmas cookies or other snacks.
There's also a special rear luggage rack that holds two snowboards along with hockey sticks and curling stones — not to mention the traditional sled. The matching snowboard rides on a trailer that has the same 22-inch light alloy wheels as the H2.
Mrs. Claus can come along and enjoy the electric fireplace — flanked by a white fake-bear-skin rug — a Webasto auxiliary heater and a red leather couch.
The Christmas Hummer was raffled off by the German TV station.
