Take a look at this video and tell us BMW's test drivers weren't playing up for the cameras just a teensy wee bit.
Despite spotting the deft camera work of the passenger standing up through the sunroof and even taking a picture of him, BMW's test drivers then let our lens-toting spies trundle along in front of and behind the mighty next-generation M3.
We already have a fair inkling that the new M3 will use a 415bhp 4.0-litre V8 engine with seven-speed sequential gearbox, but here we get the first chance to hear that engine.
And even though BMW has disguised the prototype with more tape than a gimp convention, we can still spot the quad tail pipes and 19in alloy wheels that will be standard fare for the production version when it goes on sale in the early part of 2007.
