Developing 140 hp – Now on Sale
The SEAT Alhambra is adding the new 140 hp 2.0 TDI engine to its diesel range to replace the 130 hp 1.9 TDI. This new version, which is already available on the SEAT commercial network, is sold with a manual six-speed gearbox and can be combined with the Reference, Stylance and Sport trim lines.
The debut of the new engine coincides with a series of new features for the Alhambra range, such as head airbags and ESP as standard for all versions, new body colours, new alloy wheels for the Stylance trim line, new hubcaps for the Reference trim line, new upholstery and radio/CD player with MP3. Furthermore, models with the Stylance trim line can be fitted with sophisticated multimedia technology.
The Alhambra range also features the new “Fancy” package, which benefits from the new engine version. Further to the Reference trim line it offers new 16” alloy wheels, volumetric alarm, radio/CD player with MP3, dark-tinted windows, ESP, 6 airbags, climate control and cruise control.
The brand's people carrier now features its model designation, the word “Alhambra”, on the tailgate in a central position (as on the other SEAT models).
More power, improved emission control and new particulate filter
The 103 kW 2.0 TDI engine, with four cylinders and a system featuring pump-injector units, reaches its maximum power of 140 hp at 4000 rpm and its peak torque of 310 Nm at 1900 rpm. This engine, which is combined with a manual six-speed gearbox, meets the minimum standards required by the European Union EU4 emission standard. It powers the Alhambra to a top speed in excess of 192 km/h and accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 12.2 seconds (top speed of 188 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.8 seconds for the 130 hp version).
The new Alhambra engine also features the DPF diesel particulate filter system, which works without additives by using the temperature of the exhaust gases to regenerate the system. For this reason, the filter is positioned very close to the engine. This filter outlives the car and does not require any maintenance.
The arrival of the 140 hp 2.0 engine completes a wide engine range for the SEAT MPV, which in its petrol versions offers the 2.0 developing 115 hp (85 kW), the 1.8 20VT developing 150 hp (110 kW) and the 2.8 V6 developing 204 hp (150 kW). The diesel range offers a choice of three TDI versions with pump-injector systems that develop 90, 115 and 140 hp respectively.
In combination with the 2.8 V6 and 115 hp 1.9 TDI engines, the 4 versions with full traction are offered. These two engines, plus the 1.8 20VT developing 150 hp, can be fitted with a Tiptronic automatic sequential 5-speed gearbox.
