Los Angeles —
Porsche said it staged the world premiere of the new
Cayenne Turbo S in Los Angeles because it is "home to hot rods and Hollywood."

Indeed, this was a good spot to roll out the powered-up version of its off-road model, complete with twin turbochargers and 520 horsepower. Power is up 16 percent over a standard Turbo, while torque grows to 530 pound-feet, a 15 percent increase. In comparison, the new top-Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG is capable of 503 hp and 465 lb-ft.
In addition to engine modifications, the suspension has been revised, and the brakes have been strengthened. At the front, there are 1.5-inch-thick internally vented discs measuring 15-inch, while at the rear 14.1-inch discs lie hidden behind 20-inch wheels. There's even an optional SportDesign exterior body kit.
The Turbo S accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 167 mph. Base price is $111,600.
