The once-troubled Italian marque Lancia is moving closer to a return to the UK, and this car could well be first off the ferry.
The Delta HPE concept is named after the very cool but deeply unreliable Beta HPE of the early Eighties, and leads the company's plans for international expansion.
But while the original fastback was a high-powered two-door shooting brake, the Delta is a regular five-door hatch.
That's not to say it's not distinctive. The gawping grill makes sure of that.
Inside, there's plenty of plenty of room and a sliding rear seat, so leg-space and boot-space can be traded off against each other.
There's a Microsoft Blue&Me system, which combines Bluetooth with a USB port in the dash. This promises to make easy connectivity of a mobile or MP3 player.
The HPE should fit a range of engines from 120bhp to over 200bhp. Tempted? Then tell the chaps at BringBackLancia.co.uk. They'd love some support.
