DEARBORN, Mich. — The Ford Motor Co. is bent on keeping its midsize Fusion in the forefront of drivers' consciousnesses. Or, in the case of recent promotions, even so-called "pre-drivers."
In August, the automaker announced a deal to put 600,000 Hot Wheels Fusion toy cars into boxes of Kellogg's Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes and Cocoa Krispies.
Ford's latest promotional deal extends the Hot Wheels Fusion to McDonald's, which will bundle the miniatures with Happy Meals and Kids Meals, starting the week of October 22.
Why the tie-ins with cereal and now burgers? As one Ford marketing exec observes: "It's not just kids who will come into McDonald's looking for the Fusion."
