VW is to strike at China Motor Show with facelifted version of its flagship saloon, the Phaeton. The vehicle, though, has already been displayed before its official debut. With completely new front section, 2011 model VW Phaeton is between 5.06 and 5.18 meters long, familiar with all new Volkswagens, including the Polo, Golf and Touareg.
Not only the front has changed but there are considerable styling changes in the rear as well. A new kit has also been added in the interior that include Google Maps and road sign recognition technology.
There are almost no changes if we talk about engine in new Phaeton as a 237bhp 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel will be available in both short and long-wheelbase models. However, the flagship 444bhp W12 petrol will be offered in the long-wheelbase Phaeton only.
The other changes in the 2011 VW Phaeton include a bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, a new grille, a re-designed front wings, a new bonnet and a revised front and rear bumper. The new version is scheduled to go on sale in UK in October, and price is to start at around £45,000.
