Superleggera loses its top as Lambo unleashes 201mph Gallardo LP570-4 Perfomante.
Lamborghini has lifted the lid on the ultimate convertible Gallardo. Taking the top-spec Gallardo Superleggera as its base, the firm’s engineers have created the ultimate in wind-in-the-hair experiences - the Gallardo LP570-4 Perfomante.
Thanks to Lamborghini’s efforts to reduce the weight of its cars, the Performante now tips the scales at 1,485kg – 65kg less than the standard Gallardo Spyder. This has been achieved by using carbon fibre to reinforce the aluminium bodyshell, carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) for some body parts and using Alcantara rather than leather for the interior trim.
To compliment the diet, Lamborghini has upped the power of the 5.2-litre V10 from 552bhp to 562bhp. This means that the benchmark 0-62mph sprint takes just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 201mph. The Perfomante is four-wheel drive and comes with the e gear automated manual gearbox as standard, although a manual is available as a no-cost option.
The Performante gets a number of styling tweaks to set it apart from the rest of the range. After lengthy sessions in the windtunnel, Lambo’s engineers have added a reprofiled front bumper for extra cooling and downfore, a fully enclosed underbody and a new rear diffuser. There are also new lightweight 19-inch wheels and the option of a large rear wing.
Customers get the choice of five paint colours, exotically titled Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Nero Noctis and Bianco Monocerus. Or yellow, orange, grey, black or white in English.
