First Rolls-Royce Phantom III sold to America goes on the block

The first Phantom III sold to America, which was also featured in the 2006 film Pan’s Labyrinth, will be up for auction at Bonhams’ Important Motor Cars and Fine Automobilia sale on December 6 at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands in Surrey, England. The 7,340cc V12-engined Rolls-Royce Phantom III was introduced in 1936 and is the first PIII chassis listed to have been sold to America. It was delivered to New York City-based client, E.W. Bil, on December 2, 1936. The car enjoys the stylish 5-person limousine coachwork. The rear compartment retains its complete original interior to date. The iconic Phantom III is being expected to sell for between £60,000 and £70,000 ($95,600 - $111,500).
