McLaren returns to GT racing with GT3 version of MP4-12C supercar. You want it
The geek-tastic McLaren MP4-12C has begun its transformation from Hollyoaks-Orange supercar into balls-out GT-racer.
McLaren has begun a development programme which starts with a base MP4-12C and ends with victory in European GT race series next year.

This long and treacherous road is not, however, filled with greedy emaciated hobbits intent on stealing biscuits. Rather, McLaren has already teamed up with CRS Racing and will contest that rather glorious GT3 you see above in a limited number of races throughout 2011.
Martin Whitmarsh, McLaren team principal, said: "Racing is in our blood - it was natural to develop a GT3 car alongside the 12C road car. We have a legendary history in global motorsport", hinting that this GT3 car was always in their nefarious plans to dominate tech-heavy supercars.
Don't forget, the McLaren F1 - that car of automotive legend which requires instant and constant beard-stroking - was offered as a GTR and won the Le Mans 24hrs on its debut. That's pedigree.
Details on the car will be released next year, so we'll bring you the news as it drops. This, or that rather tasty 458 GTC? Hmmm...
