CHICAGO — When Suzuki took the wraps off the Road Race SX4 concept, it was clear that the California tuners who put their hands to the custom crossover had a little fun.
Road Race Motorsports of Santa Fe Springs, California, modified the exterior of the street-tuned SX4 with a two-tone paint job, shaved roof racks and Carbontrix front sport lip, a vented carbon-fiber hood and a "rallispec" lip.
In the cabin, the SX4 gets a Suzuki Works Techno fiber trim kit and a Carbontrix shift knob. Engine upgrades include a Road Race Motorsports SRI intake system, piggyback ECU controller, performance cat-back exhaust and UD CNC pulley system. The suspension has been upgraded with progress-Road Race sport springs and front and rear antiroll bars. The custom SX4 is outfitted with 18-inch Enkei NTO+3 wheels and Toyo Proxes 4 Sport tires.
The base SX4 is equipped with a 143-horsepower DOHC 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
