The new diesel is likely to be a 2.8-litre unit with 180bhp and around 300lb ft of torque.Jeep intends to tempt buyers away from the Land Rover Defender with the rugged new Wrangler.
The Wrangler will feature a high- and low-ratio gearbox, and superb off-road ability.
