BMW already has one. Audi has said that it's working on one too. So it's no surprise that
Mercedes Benz is developing a compact
SUV of its own.




I've seen pictures of a heavily disguised prototype on the Nurburgring before, but these pictures are even more definitive as they show a next-generation C-Class body riding on high clearance, all-wheel drive platform. Like BMW's X3 which uses the compact 3 Series sedan as its basis,
Mercedes' compact
SUV will rely heavily on C-Class hardware. Expect to see this new
SUV make its debut sometime next year.
