The 8th annual Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (September 22 to 25, 2010) has kicked off under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club. During the ADIHEX 2010, there will be camel auctions, saluki beauty contests, art competitions and traditional hunting and equestrian activities. Up for display and sale at the exhibition are the two gold-plated dune buggies, which are equipped with ostrich-leather seats and plasma-screen televisions. The two custom-built safari vehicles, the Royal Beast and the Golden Edition Beast, feature remote-controlled scissor doors, which resemble those we find on a Lamborghini.
The Golden Edition Beast flaunts black, red and yellow paint done over some of the gold-coated plates. It has a high-intensity light bar above the windscreen and an eight-speaker stereo sound system. The Beast took two years to complete and there is only one more in existence. There is no word on the pricing of these gold-plated dune buggies.
